The Deep Creek Adventure Bureau organized its third annual winter fat tire bike event series, part of the first annual Highlands Fat Tire Series. Held at Herrington Manor State Park and Garrett State Forest on February 24, 2023, competitors tackled a mix of trails in heavy snowfall. Susan Haywood, Zachary Adams, and Sean Smith emerged victorious in their divisions.
15 Garrett County Government employees participated in the inaugural Community Dunk event, raising $7,827 for Special Olympics Maryland. The event drew new participants countywide, showing solidarity as they plunged into Deep Creek Lake to support friends, family, and colleagues for a noble cause.
