The second Monday in October has been an official federal U.S. holiday since the 1930s known as Columbus Day. However, an increasing number of states and cities have started acknowledging Indigenous Peoples Day alongside Columbus Day.

The Southern Garrett Bass Slayers held their October Club tournament on Deep Creek Lake. 1st place: Matthew Beitzel & Nick Riley with 2 fish weighing 6.08lbs, 2nd place: Josh Kight & Austin Bernard with 4 fish weighing 4.25lbs, 3rd place: Aryeh Harvey with 2 fish weighing 3.77lbs. The Maryland State Championship on the Potomac River on October 24th!

As part of the 54th Annual Autumn Glory Festival this week, the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce is auctioning off an Autumn Glory Photo Canvas.
