Corrections Policy

Deep Creek Times works to get every fact right. When we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and say so openly.

How to Report an Error

If you see a mistake in a story, event listing or directory listing, tell us. Use the Report an Error form below, email info@deepcreektimes.com, or write to Deep Creek Times, PO Box 753, McHenry, MD 21541. Please include the link to the page and what you believe is wrong. Anyone can report an error; you do not need to be named in the story.

What Happens Next

  1. We review every report, usually within two business days.
  2. If we confirm a factual error, we correct the story and add a note at the bottom saying what was changed and when.
  3. Small fixes that don’t change the meaning, such as a typo or a broken link, are made without a note.
  4. If a mistake was serious, such as a wrong name, a wrong date or a claim about a person or business, the correction note appears at the top of the story.
  5. We reply to let you know what we decided.

Correction Notes Look Like This

Correction, October 20, 2026: An earlier version of this story gave the wrong start time for the event. It begins at 6 p.m.

We Don’t Quietly Delete

We don’t remove news stories to hide mistakes. In rare cases, such as a safety concern or a court order, we may remove or update a story, and we will note that we did.

Complaints About Our Coverage

If you disagree with how we covered something, rather than a specific fact, write to us the same way. The publisher reads every complaint and will respond. We consider requests for follow-up coverage when there is new information to report.

Advertising and Sponsored Content

Advertisers never decide what we report. Sponsored posts and paid placements are labeled. If you think something paid was not labeled clearly, please report it using the form below. Read Who Owns Deep Creek Times.
