Save the Date: Friendsville Days 2026! Friendsville Days 2026 is coming up soon, and we're excited to bring the community together for another great weekend! Join us August 14–16, 2026 for a fun-filled few days with something for everyone. This year's celebration will feature lots of great bands, plenty of food vendors, and activities for all ages, so come out, enjoy the atmosphere, and spend time with friends and neighbors. We're still accepting applications for both vendors and parade entries. Historic Schoolhouse Open House
New Germany Schoolhouse 580 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis, MD, United StatesCome experience what it was like to be a student in the 1930s in this newly restored one-room schoolhouse. Teacher docents will share interesting stories and demonstrate instructional methods and period games. The history of the Civilian Conservation Corps and New Germany State Park will be explored with hands-on activities in the school yard. The program is free. Handicap-only parking at the Schoolhouse. Regular parking at Lot No. 5 by the Lake.

Free Canning Workshops
St. Mark's Lutheran Church 6 S. Second St, Oakland, MDSt. Mark’s Lutheran Church Hosts Free “Canning Green Beans with Barb Troyer” On Saturday, July 25, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church is hosting its second of four monthly canning workshops, June-September. “Canning Green Beans with Barb Troyer” will be held 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM in the church's commercial kitchen at 6 South Second Street in Oakland, Maryland. Participants in the first workshop were given a new 38th edition of the Ball Blue Book Guide to Preserving, with over 500 recipes. For new participants who did not attend the first workshop, copies of either the 37th or 38th editions of this valuable book will be given. On July 25, Barb Troyer, mother of Audrey Kennedy, who is the owner of local First Choice Physical Therapy, will demonstrate traditional methods for canning green beans with two kinds of pressure canners: pressure gauge and weighted top.
