The weather today will be areas of fog before noon. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 72 and a low around 58. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the afternoon.

My apologies for the late post – I had a few technical difficulties this morning.

According to our lake temperature gauge (at the top of the page), there is still time for watersports! 🙂 Although our sensor is close to the surface of the water and fluctuates, the water is squarely in the 60s. Not too bad!

On Thursday, September 30, MPT aired a special live broadcast of Ways To Pay For College, and tonight you are invited to join MPT to watch this special program virtually. The program will be joined by financial aid experts who you can chat with live during the screening event.

Did you know walking is Maryland’s official exercise? The Garrett County Health Department is challenging residents to “Walktober” in the month of October where you get 6,000 steps or more a day!

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources crews stocked 2,000 rainbow trout today in Garrett County:

  • Casselman River (Delayed Harvest)
  • Piney Reservoir
  • Youghiogheny River (Friendsville)
  • Youghiogheny River (Delayed Harvest)

Today at 5:30 pm is the group bike ride from the Town Parking Lot in Oakland. All are welcome!
