Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 64 and a low around 53. Sunday will be a slight chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 67 and a low around 52.

In the far western portions of Maryland, reports are indicating we’re at the mid-point, especially in the higher elevations. Through central and southern Maryland, we have a mixed bag mainly because summer weather has been slow to depart. The eastern portion of the state is still mainly green with a few hints of fall color; this landscape remains perfect for pollinators, spending autumnal hours collecting nectar and pollen.

Beckman’s Bear Hike – learn all about Western Maryland’s native black bears. Join Ranger Steckman at the Overflow Parking lot in Day Use for a short tailgate talk, followed by an interpretive hike.

There is a Red Ribbon Week event tomorrow at the Friendsville Community Park.
