County United Way is proud to announce their annual “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive to benefit students in Garrett County has returned this year. Stuff the Bus will take place on Friday, August 12, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the Walmart parking lot in Oakland.

The 4-H Livestock Mandatory online entry deadline is fast approaching. If you have not done so already, please have your entries submitted no later than midnight Thursday, July 28th. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is now accepting applications for the 2022 black bear hunt lottery. Successful applicants will receive a permit valid for the 6-day hunting season, which for the first time, includes a Saturday. The hunt will be open October 24-29 in Allegany, Frederick, Garrett, and Washington counties.

The Garrett County Board of Education will meet in Executive Session today to discuss the Superintendent’s evaluation. The Executive Session is closed to the public.
