Yesterday was just about perfect weather wise – sunny and not too hot. The weather for the weekend will be mostly sunny, today, with a high near 76 and a low around 64. Saturday and Sunday will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Saturday’s high near 68 and low around 62. Sunday’s high near 72 and low around 62.

Well, its not every day that you get to meet an owl up-close and personal, but you can today! You get to meet an owl and then create your own, while learning “owl secrets and facts” at the Discovery center at 11:00am.

Tomorrow will be an event downtown Oakland to unveil a plaque honoring Marilyn Moors.

The 19th Annual Tri-state Relief Sale is taking place at the fairgrounds Friday afternoon and Saturday. This is something different where you can experience local food, a silent auction, a cruise-In, horse-drawn carriage rides and more.

Theatre on the Lake is presenting Agatha Christie’s “And Then There Were None” at the Barn at Ridgeview Valley this Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30pm.

I know many of our readers like to stay informed relative to our natural habitat, so this one is for you:  The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Marine Fisheries Service (NOAA Fisheries) are jointly proposing revisions to regulations that implement portions of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and there will be a public comment period.
