GCPS Students Selected to Participate in WVU Invitational High School Honor Bands

Students from both Northern and Southern Garrett High Schools have been selected to participate in the West Virginia University Invitational High School Honor Bands. This year’s event is scheduled for February 13-15, 2025. Selected students are placed into one of three clinic bands based on a brief audition held at the beginning of the event. These bands rehearse throughout the two-day clinic and present a final performance on Saturday. In addition to working with outstanding nationally-known conductors, students are treated to a performance by the WVU Wind Symphony and have the opportunity to participate in masterclasses offered by WVU School of Music faculty members.

Northern High students selected to participate are:

  • Addison French, 12th Grade, Clarinet
  • Charles Ballon, 11th Grade, Euphonium

Southern High students selected to participate are:

  • Kailee Bray, 9th Grade, Clarinet
  • Sadie Crowell, 12th Grade, Flute
