It’s Open Mic Night at Our Town Theatre in Oakland this evening starting at 7:00pm. It is open mic for any performance you wish to give including singing, poetry, music, comedy, etc. Give it a try as a performer or member of the audience.

The Mountain Maryland Gateway to the West Heritage Area’s Mini Grant Program is now accepting applications for dollar-for-dollar matching grants up to $2,000. Projects should seek to attract cultural and heritage tourists to the region, with non-profit organizations and local jurisdictions eligible.

The bad news is some regional cities, some where our readers reside, did make the list.  The really good news is you can keep coming to the Deep Creek Lake area to decompress whenever you need to!

The Civic Club of Oakland is looking for the back story on this quilt project. This quilt and several quilt blocks were found in an closet; kept there since about 1993. Does anyone know the story?
