Deep Creek Lake Lions Club organized a Fall Clean-up at McHenry Community Park on October 21, 2023. Despite rainy and cold weather, a dedicated group cleaned the restrooms, pavilion, and garage. The park offers a disc golf course, hiking trails, a dog park, and ongoing projects like a pump track and an all-inclusive playground.

GCPS is thrilled to announce that all four secondary schools have earned Special Olympics Maryland’s Unified Champion School banner recognition, showcasing their dedication to inclusivity in Unified Sports and Activities, Inclusive Youth Leadership, and Whole School Engagement.

Work has started at McHenry Community Park for a pump track, a pedal-free wheeled sports track. It’s a versatile amenity suitable for various bikes, with hardtails being the best choice for optimal riding. I’m excited for this!!

The Beall School Road Bridge opened on schedule and within budget at noon on October 13, 2023. Mr. Allen Fisher, a local resident and key project supporter, had the honor of being the first to cross it, as he generously provided unrestricted county access through his property.
