Nature Lovers Book Club

Do you love books and nature? Friendsville is hosting a new book club for nature lovers! Come out and join the group to discuss the book club selection of the month, each with a connection to nature and science. The group plans to meet on the fourth Saturday of each month from 9:00 - 10:00 AM. 6th Annual Anything Goes Flea Market

The 6th Annual Civic Club of Oakland Anything Goes Yard Sale and Makers Market will take place at the Oakland Mountain Fresh Pavilion on Saturday, April 25. This popular spring event serves as a fundraiser for the Garrett County Community College scholarship program. Ramp Cook Off

Spring is here, can you smell it? Our annual Ramp Cook-off is back for its 23rd year! Bring your favorite ramp dish and compete to see who will be 2026’s winner! Sampling is open to the public after judging has been completed. Ramps are available for contestants to pick up on April 23rd and 24th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Discovery Center. Shred Day

Shred Day is back! Happening this year on April 25, 2026, from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM in the rear parking lot of the Main Library, Oakland. Sponsored by the Friends of the Ruth Enlow Library in partnership with Sunrise Shred, Shred Day is your opportunity to safely get rid of your old documents. The Sunrise shred truck will be located in the parking area behind the Main Library, accessed by the alley off of Center Street and across from Our Town Theatre.
