Have you heard What’s New Around Town? There is a new farmer’s market starting on May 27 — you can find Deep Creek Farmers Market in Parking Lot A at Garrett College every Friday from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM through Labor Day. The market is a rain or shine event!

This past Wednesday, Superintendent Barbara Baker and the Garrett County Board of Education (GCBOE) held a Special Board Listening Session. Superintendent Baker and the GCBOE would like to remind all students, staff, parents, and community members that the purpose of this meeting was to gain additional insight from stakeholders on the feasibility of the proposed Grade-Band Alignment Plan as it pertains to the southern end schools.

In addition, Ms. Barbara Baker, Superintendent of Schools, and Mr. Mark Greene, Manager of Communications & Public Relations, presented the Garrett County Public Schools (GCPS) Communication Plan “A Path Forward” at the monthly Board meeting Tuesday, March 8, 2022. This communication plan is focused on, and committed to, strong communication and building relationships with GCPS stakeholders.

Join Kitzmiller Library for Children’s Story Time as they look, listen, sing, and play while learning through stories, crafts, and other fun activities. This program is geared for children ages 3-5.

Children are invited to the Kids’ Book Club today at Oakland Library. This is a book discussion group for children in grades 3 through 5. Members will be provided with books to read and discuss with the group. Meetings include activities and snacks.
