New Farmers Market Coming to Garrett County!

Come one, come all to Opening Day of the Deep Creek Farmers Market’s first season! Starting on May 27th, you can find Deep Creek Farmers Market in Parking Lot A at Garrett College, 687 Mosser Road, McHenry, MD, every Friday from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM through Labor Day. The market is a rain or shine event!

Catered to serve all Garrett County residents and visitors alike, the Deep Creek Farmers Market is a community event that promotes a wholesome, social gathering place in our area, showcasing our rich agricultural heritage, local craftspersons, and unique small businesses. Founded by an all-female group of Garrett County residents wanting to provide access to healthy, locally grown produce and products, this market aims to grow, nourish, and inspire the community. We create a space for interaction between the consumer and the producer, providing opportunities to educate consumers about local agriculture.

The Deep Creek Farmers Market allows consumers to have access to locally grown, farm-fresh produce. Each week up to 20 vendors will sell a variety of goods, including vegetables, fruits, meat, eggs, flowers, baked goods, personal care products, and more. In addition, the market plans to host fun activities throughout the summer, including workshops, live music, and more.

The Deep Creek Farmers Market is not only a great place to purchase local produce and goods, but it is a place to enjoy the day with family and friends. There is no better way to strengthen your local community than to shop and eat locally! By visiting the market, you support our local farmers as well as businesses and community members. Also, you support yourself by providing healthy and fresh food for you and your family. We are looking forward to an enthusiastic first year as we gear up for our 2022 season!
