In the spirit of community support and solidarity, Reflection House is proud to announce a donation of $250 to the planning committee of the “Life is a Masquerade” (LIAM) event. The LIAM event is an initiative aimed at raising funds for the Oakland Liberty Club and supporting local substance use recovery efforts.

The check was presented by Jaimie Bell, President of the Board of Directors for Reflection House, to members of the LIAM planning committee. The funds will contribute to the organization of a dance event designed not only to raise crucial funds but also to provide an engaging social platform for individuals committed to recovery.

LIAM is an anticipated community event that symbolizes the transformative journey many face on the road to recovery. By hosting this event, the Oakland Liberty Club aims to raise awareness and funds to continue providing essential services and support to those in need.

“We are thrilled to support the Oakland Liberty Club through a contribution to their event,” said Bell. “The support from some members of the Liberty Club for the Reflection House’s Walk for Recovery event initiated a great relationship. I love how much doing the walk has helped these members realize their own strengths and abilities. And they are stepping up in the community and doing wonderful things like this ‘Life is a Masquerade’ dance.”

The dance is set to feature a variety of entertainment, with attendees encouraged to don masquerade attire, symbolizing the many faces of recovery and the unmasking of new beginnings. All proceeds from the event will go directly towards the Oakland Liberty Club’s ongoing efforts to provide resources and support for local individuals.

From the event flier: “Thank you for showing up for people who do not know how to show up for themselves yet. You are keeping beautiful people alive and continually giving chances for them to find our rooms.”
