Clarification on Northern End Listening Session

This past Wednesday, Superintendent Barbara Baker and the Garrett County Board of Education (GCBOE) held a Special Board Listening Session. Superintendent Baker and the GCBOE would like to remind all students, staff, parents, and community members that the purpose of this meeting was to gain additional insight from stakeholders on the feasibility of the proposed Grade-Band Alignment Plan as it pertains to the southern end schools.

Currently, there is no northern end Listening Session scheduled. If it is determined that it is feasible to move forward with the grade-band alignment on the southern end of the county, the focus will then shift to the northern end of the county. A northern end listening session would be scheduled at that time. Please be assured that if/when the time comes, stakeholders from the northern end of the county will have an opportunity to have their voices heard.
