The Mountain Laurel Garden Club Annual Plant Sale will take place on Saturday, June 13, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM (or until sold out) at the Glades Pavilion on Liberty Street in downtown Oakland. The sale features a wide selection of native and perennial plants, as well as exotic tomatoes and herbs grown from seed or cultivated in members’ gardens—plants that are proven to thrive in western Maryland. The sale will be held rain or shine; no pets, please.
Shoppers will be thrilled with the variety of plants available. We expect a wide selection of perennial and pollinator favorites, along with culinary and medicinal herbs, including three types of basil and popular heirloom tomato varieties.
And perhaps most exciting, the sale will feature species of native Maryland plants that support pollinators, birds, and biodiversity, including Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea), Rattlesnake Master (Eryngium yuccifolium), Penstemon (Penstemon digitalis), Blue Lobelia (Lobelia siphilitica), and Mistflower (Conoclinium coelestinum).
