Kitzmiller Coal Mining Museum Opens Doors for Special Three-Day Weekend

The Kitzmiller Coal Mining Museum will open to the public for a special three-day weekend on Friday, May 22, Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24. The museum will welcome visitors each day from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, offering a look into the rich history and heritage of the region’s coal mining era.

As one of the last remaining historic coal towns on the Upper Potomac, Kitzmiller provides a great destination for a day trip. Visitors to the museum can easily round out their day by exploring other nearby community attractions, which include a stroll along the Potomac Riverwalk, a visit to the local Arboretum, and hiking the trails at Wolf Den Run State Park.
