A Non-Competitive Walk/Bike Ride to raise money for Cindy's Fund. Cost: $30.00 (T-shirt included) | Toddlers in strollers: Free (no T-shirt) The event is on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Mountain Fresh Farmers Market Pavilion, South 1st Street, Oakland, MD. Registration/Check-In: 12:00 PM | Start of walks: 1:00 PM | 1:10 PM | 1:20 PM Course: Participants may check in at noon. Beginning at the town pavilion, the walk will be in three stages to accommodate any fitness level. Trails will be mostly paved; however, some areas may be gravel or wood paths. Due to safety concerns, the walks will not include the climb to the cross and flag. The bike ride will take place at an earlier date determined by the Vagabond riders. Bikers will be called with information regarding the date/time/start of the ride! Food will be available for purchase before and after the walks. Proceeds go to the event, so come hungry!!! Introducing a special partnership with Dove Center and Shoofly Java: Coffee, Tea & Trauma Recovery Join the Dove Center at Shoofly Java to enjoy coffee, tea, and trauma recovery tips. Afterward, we will head to Jitterbug Movement Studio for a session of healing yoga. This is a time for participants to relax and learn, and will not require deep sharing about trauma history. It is a safe, judgment-free setting to begin or continue your healing. Schedule: 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Meet at Shoofly for coffee, tea, snacks, and meaningful conversation, and tips for recovering from trauma. This will include a mindfulness exercise. 4:00 PM - 4:30 PM: Break/Questions 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM: Meet at Jitterbug Movement Studio for a Healing Yoga Session with @aylabellefit These sessions are at no cost to participants.
