The Garrett County Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Northern Middle School in the cafeteria. The meeting is open to the public and will be live-streamed for public review. Public comment for the May Board Meeting will begin at 4:00 PM, after which time the Board will go into executive session until 5:50 PM to discuss personnel topics, negotiations topics, and legal topics. The Board of Education will reconvene for its public session from 6:00 PM to 7:45 PM. Time is set aside during the public session for the hearing of constituents at approximately 7:00 PM. Please note, this time is approximate, and public comment may be adjusted based on the timing of the presentations. Staff can also provide referrals to other community agencies if we do not have a program to address the person’s needs. ANYONE can access ANY of these locations. This schedule provides flexibility to our customers who may be working in communities away from their homes, or who may be facing transportation challenges. These locations also provide support to our customers by making DSS forms available to customers during the location’s open hours of business. The Friends of the Ruth Enlow Library is a group organized to bring together citizens who value their public library. The Friends work to create a better library for the community and advocate for excellent library service whenever and wherever their efforts are needed. They pursue this mission through education, advocacy, and fundraising. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month at the Main Library from 5:30 PM to 5:45 PM.
