Monday, August 3, 2026 – 69th Annual Garrett County Agriculture Fair   Exhibit Barns open 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Reithoffer Shows will open beginning Monday and will run daily from 1 p.m. through 11 p.m.   9 a.m. - 1 p.m.: 4-H Rabbit Judging and Showmanship at the Show Ring Open Rabbit Judging in Rabbit Barn following the 4-H Judging and Showmanship 12 p.m.: 4-H and FFA Livestock Skill-A-Thon (Livestock & FFA Skill-A-Thon awards will follow 1 hour after on the outdoor stage) 3 p.m.: Adult Breeding Sheep followed by 4-H & FFA Breeding Sheep 4 - 8 p.m.: Custom Car Show - Upper Parking Lot 4 p.m.: 4-H and FFA Sheep Showmanship at the show ring 5 - 7 p.m.: Horsemanship Contest - at the Horse Barn 6 p.m.: 4-H Fashion Revue - on the Outdoor Stage 7 p.m.: 4-H & FFA Market Lamb Show - at the show ring 7 p.m.: Equestrian Extravaganza - Race Track 7:30 p.m.: Rick K and the Allnighters - Musical Entertainment - Ag Heritage Hall   Schedule is tentative and subject to change.

Horticulture Judging

University of Maryland is excited to announce a brand-new 4-H event, Horticulture Judging, taking place on Tuesday, August 3rd at 3:00 PM at the back of the Ag Hall during the Garrett County Fair! This fun and educational event is perfect for learning about fruit, vegetable, and flower identification, as well as bug identification. Participants will also have the chance to judge classes of fruits, vegetables, and flowers. Since it's the first year, the event will be all about learning and having fun—so come join us and grow your knowledge of horticulture! 🍎🌻🍅

Performing Arts Center at Garrett College 687 Mosser Road, McHenry

The Deep Creek Watershed Foundation (DCWF) is continuing a multi-layered initiative focused on improving water quality throughout the Deep Creek Lake Watershed. Following the collection and review of data from commissioned tributary studies, the Foundation has identified septic stewardship and wastewater management as critical priorities for protecting the long-term health of the watershed and lake. This effort directly supports Goal 9 of the Deep Creek Watershed Management Plan, which seeks to “protect the watershed from the adverse effects of impaired septic systems and ensure adequate capacity and management of public sewerage systems.” DCWF is currently working on several projects designed to encourage proper stewardship and maintenance of onsite septic systems to help preserve and protect water quality in the Deep Creek Lake Watershed. The DCWF will hold a Community Meeting on August 3rd 2026, at 5:30 PM at the Garrett College Performing Arts Center and will feature guest speakers. The first speaker is Eric Null, former Deep Creek Lake Manager and Foundation advisor, who will address the adverse effects from failing septic systems on DCL and the watershed.
