 Big Sandy Brews 5th Anniversary Celebration July 2–4 | Three Days of Music, Food, Art & Community Five years ago, Big Sandy Brews opened its doors with a simple goal: create a welcoming place where friends, neighbors, and visitors could gather. Since then, we’ve grown and changed in so many ways. We’ve added a kitchen, opened up walls, renovated our beer garden, improved our space, expanded our offerings, and built countless memories together. Join us as we celebrate five amazing years with a weekend full of live music, great food, local art, and good company! Join us for a telling of young George Washington, the surveyor, spy, and farmer who traveled this region before becoming the first president of the United States. Registration is required for this event. Registration will close on July 2, 2026 @ 10:30 am. This event is for registrants age 18 and below. Get your young explorers ready for the Junior Rangers program at Deep Creek Lake State Park! This six-session program for children ages 7–12 runs on Thursdays from June 25th to July 30th, 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM, and features hands-on learning and new nature topics each week. Do you have a young reader in your life looking for a fun and rewarding way to spend their Wednesday and Thursday afternoons? Join the Reading Buddies program! Located right in the HART lobby, Enzo's Library is the perfect place to bring your kiddos, pick out some awesome books, and read to our adorable, adoptable dogs and cats. And guess what? You can even take the books home with you! Reading Buddies takes place on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:00 - 5:00 PM. *Please note, all readers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the program. A big shoutout to The Bavis Foundation for sponsoring this amazing initiative and providing books, bookmarks, and treats! Want to join in? Come ride with us: ALL ABILITIES WELCOME! Meet at 5:15 PM at Margraff Plantation Trail Parking in Accident, MD (put that in your GPS), wheels down at 5:30 PM. Return by 7:30pm-ish PLEASE SIGN UP IN ADVANCE IF YOU CAN MAKE IT: https://x.gldn.io/e/XUeafPLEv3b The ladies will begin with basic trail riding skills review and then ride a portion of the trails. This is your chance to meet other bike riders (or want-to-be riders) stopping periodically along the way to reinforce skills needed to tackle the trail and to (definitely) take pictures of our bikes and wildflowers. This FREE ride is for beginner level riders looking for advice on local trail / MTB riding and interest in improving their skills in a noncompetitive atmosphere. And intermediate and advanced level riders looking to meet new biking friends. We will ride about 3-6 miles of beginner level terrain with some small uphill sections and fun-flowy sections. Questions on MTB skills are encouraged, and the intention is to have fun and gain confidence on the trails. The ride is open for all female or female identifying riders.
