The Friends of Maryland State Forests and Parks have again joined forces with sixteen other states to host the Run for the Trees virtual 5K event to help raise money for tree planting and forest protection efforts. This virtual event invites you to complete a 5K anytime between April 18-26, 2026, coinciding with Earth Day and Arbor Day. Red Trail Invasives Removal

Come get your hands dirty for this volunteer program. We’ll be identifying and removing invasive weeds to support biodiversity and our native environment. Bring gloves if you have them. Furs, Feathers, and Skulls!

Drop by the Lake House for this hands-on program, where Ranger Noah will be displaying a collection of furs, feathers, and skulls. Test your knowledge of local birds and mammals and learn about the unique traits that set these animals apart.
