Alpine Lake Resort Music Fest Lineup Announced

Alpine Lake Resort, a four-season, multi-amenity resort in the mountains of Preston County is hosting its annual Music Fest on August 21 on the resort grounds.  This year’s events and related festivities will be special as the resort celebrates its 50th anniversary.

The event will take place near the shores of the resort’s 150-acre lake and its 18-hole golf course, with attendees able to take in the great mountain and lake views while they listen to five great bands and enjoy the food, refreshments, and activities available.

The Fest starts at 11:00 am on the 21st with the first act, local singer, songwriter, and performer Ronnie Burroughs taking the stage and sharing the music that has made him a favorite among regional music lovers for years.  Following Ronnie at 12:15 pm is regional artist Paul Burger, a local musician that has appeared at numerous venues since 1982.

Next-up at 1:30 pm will be The Hillbilly Gypsies, performing their own brand of bluegrass and old-time music that has delighted audiences for years. The Gypsies have played many major bluegrass festival events around the country and have won numerous accolades and awards, including being Voted West Virginia’s best band by West Virginia Living Magazine. The Travis Minnick Band will follow at 3:45pm.  With deep roots in the area, this band offers their unique take on country music, and one that has been rewarded with a recording contract that recognizes their songwriting skills and strong musicianship.

Taking the stage at 5:45 pm, Train Wreck, considered by many to be Morgantown’s greatest cover band, will perform rock and roll dating back to the 70s, with a mix of country added. Overall, the five bands will provide a great musical experience that is expected to delight fans of bluegrass, country, and rock and roll, all in a beautiful mountain setting.

Also, just added, is a surprise guest performance!

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the event. Festival attendees can take in the scenery, sample some great, inexpensive food and beverages, peruse offerings from regional vendors and walk the grounds.  Tickets and more information are available online at https://alpinelake.com/music-fest, by calling or visiting the front desk at the lodge (304-789-2481) or through local retail establishments, including Hair N’ Phernalia and Brodak’s Liquors in Oakland, Hair 4 You in Kingwood and Mountaineer Mart in Terra Alta.
