The Deep Creek Lake Lions Club is looking for teams of volunteers to staff some of their Pioneer Challenges at the end of the month. Your group (at least one adult) will oversee one of the challenges for the event and, in exchange, you’ll get a minimum donation of $500 and a team entry for the challenge. There’s a Big Foot Night Hike nearby. Join the Rangers at the pavilion in the Robert W. Craig Campground at 8:00 pm on Saturday, August 7th; the first hike will begin at 9:00 pm. It looks so fun!

Just FYI – due to the recent dry weather conditions and lack of rainfall the Shaw Beach (on the West Virginia side) of Jennings Randolph Lake is no longer usable for swimming. Hopefully, we will get some rain and the lake levels will rise.

Garrett County Drug-Free Communities Coalition received a grant from the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) to prevent youth substance abuse.
