Gentle Yoga Stretch at Deep Creek Lavender Farm

Spread out and enjoy the beautiful outdoors for an hour of gentle/beginning yoga with Sheri Kosh, RYT E-500. This class is great if you are new to yoga or want a slower, gentler practice. Students bring their own mat or towel. Extra props are not required for this class. Physically, you need to be able to get up and down on your own and balance on the grass (with a slight slope). Oakland Golf Club’s Annual Kids Camp

Learning Beyond the Classroom: Summer of Space June Rockets

Each family will receive a bag of food, including fresh local veggies, and every child can choose a book and a space-themed learning activity. Garrett County Department of Social Services Assistance Program

Occurring on the 3rd Thursday of the month at the Kitzmiller branch, representatives from the Garrett County Department of Social Services will be in the library to serve the community through their assistance outreach program. Customers can come see a DSS staff person at any of these locations to pick up paperwork, drop off paperwork, apply for services like SNAP, CASH Assistance, and Medical Assistance, or just to ask questions about the programs and services offered by our agency. Staff can also provide referrals to other community agencies if we do not have a program to address the person’s needs. ANYONE can access ANY of these locations. This schedule provides flexibility to our customers who may be working in communities away from their homes or who may be facing transportation challenges. These locations also provide support to our customers by making DSS forms available to customers during the location’s open hours of business.
