Learn to Fish!

Join the naturalists at the Discovery Center to learn how to partake in one of the best pastimes Deep Creek has to offer– fishing! Kids between 7-15 will learn skills that will help on their own fishing adventures. Registration is required. Registration can be done at the Discovery Center desk with a $5 payment. Guardians must remain present during fishing.

Join Deep Creek Pottery as they celebrate the littlest campers at Deep Creek Pottery! This awesome camp is for ages 4-8. We will have a week to create projects such as handmade pottery, mosaic tiles creations, pottery painting, snacks, and more! Instruments from Around the World

Ruth Enlow Library - Grantsville 102 Parkside Drive, Grantsville

This program will focus on a variety of instruments from around the world. Students will learn the history and mechanics of multiple instruments through videos and instructor demonstrations. They will also have the opportunity to explore each instrument in a hands-on manner. Come and learn about instruments from 5 continents! Instructor Dr. Sean Beachy is a local musician, composer, conductor, and music educator. Raised in Garrett County, Dr. Beachy has given back to the community through music education for the past 15+ years. The market will feature local produce, meats, eggs, honey, baked goods, flowers, prepared food, artisan crafts & more. Bring a chair or blanket for the lawn. Bring your own non-alcoholic beverage. The campus has a strict no-alcohol policy. Your furry friends are welcome in outdoor areas as long they're leashed and under your watchful eye.

Bindlestiff Family Variety Arts, Inc., founded by Keith Nelson and Stephanie Monseu in 1995, prides itself on being an integral part of America’s outstanding folk traditions of circus, sideshow, and vaudeville. Bindlestiff’s activities fall into three main areas. First, we produce original shows, festivals, and public events. Over the decades, Bindlestiff has presented nearly 600 of the world’s top artists in the circus and variety fields. Shows in our home regions of NYC and the Hudson Valley, as well as national touring in the United States, have engaged audiences in the hundreds of thousands, with performances in theaters, Spiegeltents, big tops, cruise ships, fairs, and festivals, including 2017’s Smithsonian Folklife Festival, celebrating the cultural heritage of the American circus on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The second area of Bindlestiff’s work is the support of emerging and professional variety artists. The Bindlestiff Open Stage Variety Show is the premiere circus “open mic” night in New York City, presenting acts by over 100 artists every year.
