Becoming an Outdoors-Woman Summer Workshop
The 2024 Becoming an Outdoors-Woman Workshop will take place from August 9-11, 2024, in Garrett County. This 3-day workshop is for beginners who want to improve their skills or learn new ones, focusing on outdoor skills and designed primarily for women, 18 years or older. Registration will open on Tuesday, June 25th at 12:00 PM, and it is first-come, first-served with spots filling up quickly. Completing the registration does not guarantee a spot; you will be notified of your placement in the workshop or on the waiting list. Check here for the weekend schedule and class information.

Deep Creek Lake State ParkReflection House has embarked on a fundraising and public awareness campaign to support the Reflection House: Garrett County’s First Residential Recovery House for Women. We also want to educate the community and eliminate the stigma associated with substance use disorder. This 2-mile trail route or 1-mile paved course is open to all as a way to unify and strengthen our community. We will walk to raise awareness about this important issue and share the positive message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, prevention works, treatment is effective and people can and do recover. REGISTER HERE FOR THE WALK There is a suggested $10 donation to participate although no amount is required. Every person registered to walk will receive a t-shirt.
