Meet a Naturalist in the Discovery Room to learn about the world's only flying mammal - bats! Determine fact from fiction as they debunk common bat myths. Then, play a fun game to learn how bats use sound to navigate, hunt, and communicate. A fun program for all ages!

All sessions are limited on the number of participants so JTF1 encourages you to buy your admissions in advance but drop-ins are also welcome. Public skates are limited to scheduled times. RENTALS The Ice Rink has skates for all sizes, helmets, and skate aids for rent. Skates are $2, helmets are $1, and skate aids are $2. Skate aids are only available for children under 48 inches in height. You can bring your own bike helmet. Helmets are not required but encouraged, especially for beginners. Additionally, if you are renting skates, you are required to wear socks. Please wear full-length socks - footies, ankle socks, etc. are not appropriate to protect your skin in skates. SKATE SESSIONS AND PRIVATE RENTALS JTF will hold multiple Public Skate Sessions which are $5 per skater plus skate rental. Additionally, we have two special sessions. Accident Library invites you to join our sewing circle: "A Stitch in Time." The library meets every Saturday morning at 9:30 AM. All age groups and skill levels are welcome, so come meet other sewing enthusiasts and make new friends, stitch by stitch. FREE! ALL ARE WELCOME! Deep Creek Adventure Bureau is hiking on the last day of 2023: let's let go of the past and clear the way for a great future. Meet at 12:30 PM at Garrett State Forest! Bring your water and cold-weather gear like gloves, neck gaiters, hot hands, and hats. The hiking will be about 2 miles with less than 200 feet elevation change. Wish for snow and meet at the dip! Celebrate the new year at the JTF Ice Rink at a family-friendly time and atmosphere. The price includes skating, skate rentals, and food. Each paid admission will receive tickets for 2 drinks, 1 hot food choice, and 1 other food choice (chips, candy bar, etc). Reservations will be required for this event. They are also holding a donation drive for Hart for Animals. If you bring a pet supply donation, you will get a ticket for entry to win a $100 Sheetz Gift Card—one ticket per person.
