    Get hands-on and gain confidence in maintaining your mountain bike with this practical 3-hour workshop designed for riders of all levels. Whether you're new to bike maintenance or looking to refine your skills, this session will give you the essential knowledge and techniques to keep your bike trail ready. In this workshop, you'll learn: How to perform a pre-ride safety check. Basic drivetrain maintenance: cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting. How to fix a flat and repair a tubeless tire. Brake adjustment and troubleshooting (disc and rim). Gear shifting adjustments and derailleur tuning. Chain wear and replacement tips. Emergency trailside repairs. Led by an experienced bike mechanic, this hands-on class emphasizes real-world scenarios with plenty of time for questions and practice. Bring your own bike to work on, or use one provided. Leave with the skills and confidence to keep your ride smooth and safe. Perfect for: Recreational riders, weekend warriors, and anyone who wants to understand better how their mountain bike works.   • Garrett County Department of Social Services Assistance Program

    Ruth Enlow Library - Grantsville 102 Parkside Drive, Grantsville, Maryland

    Occurring on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Grantsville branch, representatives from the Garrett County Department of Social Services will be in the library to serve the community through their assistance outreach program. Customers can come see a DSS staff person at any of these locations to pick up paperwork, drop off paperwork, apply for services like SNAP, CASH Assistance, and Medical Assistance, or just to ask questions about the programs and services offered by our agency. Staff can also provide a referral to other community agencies if we do not have a program to address the person’s needs. ANYONE can access ANY of these locations. This schedule provides flexibility to our customers who may be working in communities away from their home or who may be facing transportation challenges. These locations also provide support to our customers by making DSS forms available to customers during the location’s open hours of business. Oakland Golf Club’s Men’s League tees off Wednesdays at 5:30 PM, offering a fun and competitive weekly play for golfers of all skill levels. Players can sign up as a single or as part of a foursome, with a season-long points race for cash prizes, weekly hole contests, and both net and gross team prizes. Weekly formats keep things fresh, including scrambles, shambles, and specialty play nights.
