Kids between 7-15 will learn skills that will help on their own fishing adventures. Registration is required. Registration can be done at the Discovery Center desk with a $5 payment. The Victorian Chautauqua Festival

The Victorian Chautauqua is a weekend-long festival celebrating the History of Mountain Lake Park with live historical portrayals, music, lectures, and Vaudeville In The Street. Trolley tours of the Historic District run throughout the weekend, and the Kid-Tauqua tent keeps the little ones busy all day. Three large tents house the performances, all immersed in the Victorian charm of this rural resort community established in 1881. Volunteers wear period costumes, and many attendees do, too. Shop the Artisan Row for a unique hand-made treasure, or sit for a hand-cut silhouette or an authentic tintype photo. On Saturday, stroll through the Model T and Vintage Car Showcase. Ask for a ride! Some drivers will be available. On Sunday, take a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride through the Park. Enter the Beard & Mustache Contest or the Women's Hat Competition to win the 2024 Grand Champion trophy. Lots of fun awaits at the Victorian Chautauqua. Admission and parking are free. Boat Parade on Deep Creek Lake

Callin' all Captains - decorate your boat and WIN! The Parade will start from the Silver Tree Marina docks in McHenry Cove and will proceed in single file past a number of judging stations along the route. Spectators at the judging stations will vote for their favorite boats, At the end of the judged parade, lighted boats will proceed back to the McHenry Cove at dusk. Entrants in the parade will need to pay a MINIMUM $50 registration fee, and the number of entries is limited, so be sure to pre-register to ensure your spot. Prizes this year are limited to the custom flag and trophy. All the funds raised benefit our Blind Skier and Camper Programs. Non-profit organizations can enter a boat for FREE and can keep all the money they raise! The Deep Creek Lake Lions Club Boat Parade runs from McHenry Cove to The Harbor Bar at Dutches starting at 7:00 PM on Saturday, July 6th. You can "VOTE" anytime via the donation link throughout this post. Our motley group has been entering the Deep Creek Lake Lions Club Boat parade for almost 10 years! We have won "people's choice" - but never have taken home the BIG WIN - 1st PLACE!
