Join Ranger Noah and student intern Maddy on this moderate-to-difficult 2-mile hike, and learn about some of the sixteen native trees that are labeled throughout the park. This will be one of a series of tree talks, with each focusing on different tree species.

Garrett County residents can skate for free for up to five sessions throughout January and February. The town of Oakland is gearing up for its annual Winter Fest, slated for February 17, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This year’s event will feature kids’ activities, store specials, live music and performances, the return of the highly successful Winter Fest Wine Walk, and back for the first time since COVID-19, the popular ice sculptures! For the first time since 2019, Winter Fest will feature hand-carved ice sculptures by The Ice God team from Baltimore Maryland! Prepare to be impressed by the beautiful ice carvings placed around the downtown area. We plan to have some that are interactive as well! If you would like to participate by having an ice sculpture contact Nicole at City Hall for information and pricing. Embrace the beauty of the forest under a full moon on this 1-mile hike with Ranger Noah. This "Snow Moon" will be the last full moon of winter. Please bring a flashlight or headlamp.
Registration is open from 10:00 AM – 12:00 NN in the Main Lodge at Wisp Resort. The competition is open to skiers, snowboards, and spectators. So come and join the fun or cheer on your friends. The first hour will be indoors, followed by an optional guided hike to practice new skills. A limited number of snowshoes will be available to try if there is adequate snow. All ages are welcome.
