Join Ranger Julia for this Park PROs program and learn how to safely and responsibly enjoy State Parks with your four-legged best friend. Discussion will include where to find the best pet-friendly amenities, how to keep your pet safe in the outdoors, and tips to maximize fun for everyone! Well behaved, leashed dogs are welcome to attend this outdoor program, which will conclude with an optional easy pack walk along the Turnpike Trail to enjoy the seasonal sights (and smells!) of New Germany. Please ensure that all participating pups have their rabies vaccination information readily available.
Celebrate turtle week by joining volunteer naturalists Deb and Peggy for this kid-friendly craft and learn about some of the unique characteristics of turtles. This activity will also include a short hike.

Join Polska Polish Pottery of Deep Creek Lake for a weekly Tuesday Scavenger Hunt benefiting local charities! Sign up your team now (max of 20 teams) and get ready for a fun and exciting competition! The hunt begins at 9:30 AM on Tuesday at Polska Polish Pottery at Dry Dock Plaza (next to McDonald's). Teams will receive the rules and will have two hours to complete a series of tasks. Each task earns points for your team. The top 3 teams will each receive a gift! Prizes will be awarded at 9:30 AM on Wednesday at Polska Polish Pottery. Team costumes are encouraged! The team registration fee is $25, payable at Polska Polish Pottery. All fees will be donated to a local charity! Gather outside the Lake House for a history talk with Ranger Noah. Take a step back in time and learn about the history of New Germany State Park, from the early German settlers to the park you see today. This history talk will be offered periodically throughout the summer.

The MCC crew will guide you through the closest cove. This program will teach you the basics of canoeing. Registration can be done at the Discover Center desk with a $10 payment. Guardians must remain present for anyone under 18.

New Germany State Park will host Senior Rangers, a new series of programs designed for adults ages 55+, every Thursday from May 30 through June 27. Programs will include mushroom gardening, fishing, native plant identification, birding, and foraging. The programs are free (supported by the Friends of New Germany State Park), but donations are welcome. Registration is required for each weekly program and space is limited. Join yoga instructor Tina Dick for an hour-long gentle yoga session. This yoga session will take place between the playground and the kayak launch, lakeside, in the Day Use area. Yoga will be free. Simply tell staff upon arriving that you are here for the yoga class. Plan to bring a mat or beach towel to practice on. Blocks will be available for use.
