Based out of State College, PA, this is a high energy 4 piece pop punk/alt rock cover band delivering big sounds with huge songs. It’s kind of like that teen movie from the early 2000s where the soundtrack is Fall Out Boy, Blink 182 and Good Charlotte. If it had energy and was on the radio anywhere between the 90’s and 2000’s they probably play it.

Guys Without Ties is a band with over 20 years experience playing music with style, substance and roots. While there is nothing like the sound of real horns playing real songs, we have figured out how to incorporate today’s technology based music into what we do. We can play all kinds of music for all kinds of audiences.

Music at Penn Alps is pleased to present the Breaking Winds Bassoon Quartet. The concert will be at the handicap-accessible Village Chapel in the Spruce Forest Village in Grantsville, MD, on August 3 at 7:00 PM. The Breaking Winds Bassoon Quartet may be history’s most ambitious cover band. Four women wielding bassoons (with help from some kazoos, a melodica, and whatever else they found nearby), aim to explore the creative frontier and share smiles along the way. By blending varied musical genres and performance styles with pop culture, the quartet demonstrates that music and laughter are universal languages. The group -- consisting of Brittany Harrington-Smith, Yuki Katayama, Nellie Sommer, and Lauren Yu Ziemba -- was formed in 2008 as students at the Eastman School of Music (USA).
