Garrett County’s Public High School FIRST Robotics Team 1629, GaCo, will be holding their “Eggstravaganza” on Good Friday, March 29, from 9:00 AM to 12 noon in front of the Garrett County Arts Council’s “The Gallery Shop” on Second Street in downtown Oakland. Along with “egg” based activities for children of all ages to experience, GaCo will have a shoe shine stand - just in time for Easter! Along with shining shoes, the team will have “egg” activities promoting STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, the ARTS, and Math. Activities will include LEGO machines that decorate easter eggs, learning to draw a “perfect” egg shape using a geometric construction with a straightedge and compass, and a virtual Easter Egg hunt. GaCo has started its twentieth season, has already competed in two qualification tournaments, and is preparing to compete in its District Championship on April 4-6. The team encourages everyone to stop by to get their shoes shined, visit the Art Gallery, decorate an egg for Easter, and learn more about their program and the team’s exciting partnership with the Garrett County Arts Council. The annual Dans Mountain Easter Egg Hunt is one of the area's largest hunts, featuring more than 2,000 eggs hidden across two acres! The hunt will begin promptly at 1:15 PM. Families should bring their own Easter baskets and arrive no later than 1:00 PM. to ensure adequate time for parking and instructions before the event. Children will be placed into one of three age groups. After the hunt, eggs can be redeemed for candy and prizes. Participants can also enjoy free hot dogs and drinks, and a visit with the Easter Bunny. This annual event is organized by the Dans Mountain Park Association, a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the park.
Come and participate in the Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the Grantsville Lions Club at Grantsville Park on March 30th, starting at 3:30 PM! All ages are welcome to join in the fun.
Mark your calendars for our annual Easter Egg Hunt on the lawn. Hunt starts promptly at 1:00 PM and doesn't last long, so make sure you are on time! In case of inclement weather, the hunt will be moved inside to our downstairs dining area.
