Take a step back in time and learn about the history of New Germany State Park, from the early German settlers to the park you see today. This history talk will be offered periodically throughout the summer.

This program promotes creative expression, social skills, listening comprehension, and school readiness through stories, STEM activities, games, music, and crafts. Disclaimers: This program is designed for children and accompanying adults. Please plan to attend and be engaged with your child in this program. Drop-offs will not be permitted. Programs, events, and classes may be photographed or videotaped for library promotional purposes. Your participation in programs signifies your permission for us to use any photos that we take of you. Please speak to a librarian at the event if you would prefer your photo not to be taken.
Finding Your Roots Online Spring 2024 Series: Part IV – Crossing the Pond
Virtual OnlyMaryland Public Television and the Maryland Genealogical Society offer another beginner-to-intermediate genealogy workshop series, coming this spring. Finding Your Roots Online will consist of four (4) two-hour sessions focused on the online resources individuals can search to find more information about their ancestors. Each session will feature a combination of lecture, small and large group discussion, question and answer time, and a homework assignment relating to your family search. Handouts will be provided for each session. The webinars will be recorded and registrants can view the sessions later; however, because this workshop is interactive, we encourage all registrants to attend the live virtual sessions whenever possible. This series is perfect for anyone looking to better understand the vast offerings of online family research. Your family does not need Maryland ties to benefit from this course; however, the instructor will use some Maryland examples. Those who attend will receive a one-year MPT Passport membership or membership extension, and a one-year membership to the Maryland Genealogical Society (MGS) — not applicable to current MGS members.
