Town of Friendsville Fall Leaf Pick-Up

The Town of Friendsville will conduct its Fall Leaf Pick-Up starting Monday, September 28, through Monday, November 23, 2026. Please follow these collection guidelines: Place all leaves at the edge of your property along the roadway in a pile, not a row. Ensure piles are free of sticks, branches, flowers, and other debris. Note that collection dates are weather permitting. Help keep Friendsville clean and beautiful this autumn!

Board of Education Meeting: October 13, 2026

The Garrett County Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. The Board will meet at the Dennett Road Education Complex in the Community Room. The meeting is open to the public and will be live-streamed for public review. Public comment for the October 13, 2026, Board Meeting will begin at 4:00 p.m., after which time the Board will go into executive session in the Instructional Directors’ Conference Room until 5:30 p.m. to discuss personnel matters and a negotiations topic. The Board of Education will reconvene for the public session from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. in the community room. Time is set aside during the public session for the hearing of constituents at 7:00 p.m. Please note that this time is approximate, and public comment may be adjusted based on the timing of the presentations. Topics excluded from Public Comment include: Individual personnel issues. Comments identifying individual students or staff members. Southern End School Readiness Boo Bash

The Judy Center Early Learning Hub and community partners invite families to the Southern End School Readiness Boo Bash, a Halloween celebration for families with children from birth through kindergarten who live in the Broad Ford, Crellin, Swan Meadow and Yough Glades school districts.The Boo Bash runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Garrett County Fairgrounds Ag Hall. A sensory-friendly hour for children with special needs comes first, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.The event is supported by the Maryland State Department of Education's Division of Early Childhood through the Judy Center Early Learning Hub Grant, with Garrett County Community Action as a partner.
