Young Readers’ Book Club

Young Readers' Book Club is a book discussion group for children in grades 6 and up. Programs are held on the third Tuesday of every month September through November and January through May. Members will be provided with books that they will read and discuss with the group. Meetings include activities and snacks. Registration is required. Conventional OSSD Design

Garrett County Health Department (Oakland Offices) 1025 Memorial Drive, Oakland, MD

This meeting will discuss the process for applying for a septic permit and what is required when submitting the application. It will include the requirements for an adequate site plan for an on-site sewage disposal system. This will cover septic systems with conventional drain-fields only, with and without pumps.

Veterans Town Hall

Frostburg State University 101 Braddock Road, Frostburg

The Veterans Town Hall is hosted by the Western Maryland Veteran Suicide Prevention Task Force. It will focus on veteran suicide prevention in Allegany and Garrett Counties and will take place on April 16, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Frostburg State University. Parking will be available at the Performing Arts Center. The Lane Center, located in the center of campus near the Clock Tower, will be the venue for the event.
