Coffee, Tea & Trauma Recovery

Introducing a special partnership with Dove Center and Shoofly Java: Coffee, Tea & Trauma Recovery Join the Dove Center at Shoofly Java to enjoy coffee, tea, and trauma recovery tips. Afterward, we will head to Jitterbug Movement Studio for a session of healing yoga. This is a time for participants to relax and learn, and will not require deep sharing about trauma history. It is a safe, judgment-free setting to begin or continue your healing. Schedule: 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Meet at Shoofly for coffee, tea, snacks, and meaningful conversation, and tips for recovering from trauma. This will include a mindfulness exercise. 4:00 PM - 4:30 PM: Break/Questions 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM: Meet at Jitterbug Movement Studio for a Healing Yoga Session with @aylabellefit These sessions are at no cost to participants. They are made possible by a grant through the Dove Center, to provide trauma-informed healing opportunities. REGISTER HERE

Board of Education Meeting

The Garrett County Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. The Board will meet at Dennett Road Educational Complex in the Community Room. The meeting is open to the public and will be live-streamed for public review. Public comment for the April Board Meeting will begin at 3:00 PM, after which time the Board will go into executive session until 5:45 PM. The Board of Education will reconvene for public sessions from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Time is set aside during the public session for the hearing of constituents at approximately 7:00 PM. Please note that this time is approximate, and public comment may be adjusted based on the timing of the presentations.
