Join Grantsville Library for Children's Story Time on Monday mornings beginning at 11:00 AM for an hour of stories, crafts, and activities designed to foster a love of reading in young children. Dress for Success Pop-Up Store

Re-opening of Dress for Success pop-up store March 15th. The Garrett County Republican Women’s Club will be celebrating the reopening of our Dress for Success pop-up store. The store has been restocked with over 1000 new clothing items! Hundreds of beautiful items were donated by a very kind local family and included popular name brands in sizes 1X, 2XL 3XL, and 4XL. All are free to women who are entering or are in the workforce, who need professional clothing, or who just want a new outfit. The store helps women put their best foot forward and thrive in the workplace. The reopening will be a St. Patrick’s Day special event with a “Bag of Gold” theme! Every customer will be given a large plastic bag and encouraged to fill their “Bag of Gold” with all the clothing/accessories/shoes they can fit into the bag. All free! We will also be treating our customers to some delicious St. Paddy’s Day refreshments! The store hours will be STORE RE-OPENING ON Friday, March 15th, from 12-noon to 6:00 PM. Celtic Harp Concert

The Ruth Enlow Library invites the public to celebrate Irish American Heritage Month with a Celtic Harp concert on Monday, March 18, from 3:00 – 4:00 PM. at the Friendsville Library. The concert will feature harper Lynne Dale performing a selection of Celtic and popular tunes. There will also be some audience participation.  This event is free and open to the public. Those planning to attend are asked to contact Melissa at 301-746-5663 or events@relib.net to sign up. Lynne is a graduate of Mansfield University, Mansfield, PA. She has taught music and served as an organist and choir director in New England, the mid-Atlantic region, and Washington State.  She is currently an organist at St. John’s Episcopal Church and First Presbyterian Church, both in Frostburg. Free Expungement Clinic - brought to you by Maryland Legal Aid. Attendees can receive free assistance from Maryland Legal Aid attorneys to expunge their criminal records. To register, contact Michael Stevens at mstevens@mdlab.org or 240-979-0640. Registration is not mandatory.

Spring Equinox Hike

New Germany Lake House 403 McAndrews Hill Road, Grantsville

Celebrate the last day of winter by joining Ranger Noah on this easy 1-mile night hike. Listen to the sounds of the spring peepers, feel the warmer weather coming and watch for the stars in the sky. Halfway through the hike we will enjoy s’mores and hot chocolate around the campfire while Ranger Noah discusses the history and traditions of the spring equinox. Please bring a flashlight or headlamp.
