The first of a series of non-partisan public discussions entitled, “Let’s Talk about the Future of Garrett County,” will be held on March 30th from 11:00 AM – 12-noon at the Ruth Enlow Library in Oakland.
“Our county is full of intelligent, creative, and forward-looking folks,” says Thomas Vose, director of the Ruth Enlow Library, who will facilitate the sessions. “I am hopeful that our discussions will tap all those attributes and help create a new generation of civic-minded folks that choose civility!” he adds.
While brief readings will be available before each session, Vose said the discussion format will be informal, “neighbor-to-neighbor,” with participants encouraged to bring pot-luck dishes.
