From Elamite broth to Pizza Hut, learn fun and fascinating historical facts about some of your favorite dishes and how the cooking and dining experience has changed over the millennia. Occurring on the 3rd Thursday of the month at the Kitzmiller branch, representatives from the Garrett County Department of Social Services will be in the library to serve the community through their assistance outreach program. Customers can come see a DSS staff person at any of these locations to pick up paperwork, drop off paperwork, apply for services like SNAP, CASH Assistance, and Medical Assistance, or just to ask questions about the programs and services offered by our agency. Staff can also provide referrals to other community agencies if we do not have a program to address the person’s needs. ANYONE can access ANY of these locations. This schedule provides flexibility to our customers who may be working in communities away from their homes or who may be facing transportation challenges. These locations also provide support to our customers by making DSS forms available to customers during the location’s open hours of business. The Deep Creek Lake Lecture Series will take place every Thursday in March 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Performing Arts Center at Garrett College.
