Garrett Regional Medical Center welcomed 24 high school students last week through the AHEC West ECHO program, a summer initiative for those exploring healthcare careers in Garrett, Allegany, and Washington counties.

On June 30, 2025, the Deep Creek Lake Lions Club collected over seven bags of trash along US Route 219. After the cleanup, members gathered at Black Bear Wine and Words. Another cleanup is planned for the fall.
