Wednesday November 27

The weather today will be cloudy with rain likely. A high near 56 and a low around 30. Windy, with a south wind 13 to 18 mph becoming west 24 to 29 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. A chance of rain and snow showers overnight with half an inch of precipitation possible.

Please use caution: Dangerous winds will be possible through Thursday at 10am.

The weather has been a bit off the wall — sunny, snowy, sunny and snowy this week it seems. Here’s a photo from the 50-degree day we enjoyed — I’m calling it “November Summer”

Have you made your guess for the November “Where Am I?” Contest? This one is a little more obscure but there’s a hint buried in the Daily Notes!

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources and Forest Conservancy District Boards invites all Maryland fifth-graders in private and public schools to participate in the annual Arbor Day Poster Contest. The theme for 2020 is: “Trees Are Terrific…in All Four Seasons!”

The “Little Free Pantries of Garrett County” remind citizens there are Thanksgiving bags available — these bags are free for anyone in need — that contain stuffing, potatoes, gravy, corn, cornbread, green bean casserole ingredients, and cranberry sauce. There is a pantry by Oakland City Hall and one outside of Crellin Elementary School. Please spread the word!

Happy Thanksgiving!
