Music at Penn Alps is pleased to present the Breaking Winds Bassoon Quartet. The concert will be at the handicap-accessible Village Chapel in the Spruce Forest Village in Grantsville, MD, on August 3 at 7:00 PM. The Breaking Winds Bassoon Quartet may be history’s most ambitious cover band. Four women wielding bassoons (with help from some kazoos, a melodica, and whatever else they found nearby), aim to explore the creative frontier and share smiles along the way. By blending varied musical genres and performance styles with pop culture, the quartet demonstrates that music and laughter are universal languages. The group -- consisting of Brittany Harrington-Smith, Yuki Katayama, Nellie Sommer, and Lauren Yu Ziemba -- was formed in 2008 as students at the Eastman School of Music (USA).
