Thursday March 7

Yesterday was cold with flurries, but the sun was out for a good part of the day and it was beautiful, with the reflection on the snow.

Today’s weather will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 26 and a low around 19. A chance of snow showers, tonight, mainly after 2am. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Well, I am sad to have to put this in this Daily Notes, but it is important and may save a life:  The Garrett County Health Department just issued an overdose alert after learning that there has been a  recent increase in overdoses related to opiates in and around Garrett County. Garrett County Health Officer Bob Stephens stated that “while we are not certain what caused the spike… there has been an increase of overdoses in Maryland due to the presence of the powerful synthetic opioid drug fentanyl.” Here’s a link to the alert.
