SavageMan 2021 is Cancelled

SavageMan 2021 has been cancelled. There is road construction on MD135 that necessitates a detour creating a 70 mile bike course with 8000′ of climbing and places the wall at mile 37, vs 19. While this change may appeal to some athletes, it’s not feasible from a logistics and support standpoint. We looked at 56 mile routes without the wall, but what is SavageMan without Westernport? Without the 70, the entire weekend falls apart so we made the very difficult decision to cancel the weekend of racing.

All currently registered athletes have been sent an email with details on transferring your registration to another 2021-2022 Kinetic Multisports event or getting a refund. Please be sure to check your promotions folder or email us at races@kineticmultisports.com for details. All transfers must be completed by midnight Tuesday 8/31 or a refund will be issued electronically.

We know SavageMan has a passionate following, both athletes that completed it some time ago or hope to in the future, but with 3 of the last 4 years being cancelled (hurricane, Covid, construction) it makes a sustainable event extremely difficult and we will be focusing our production resources on other events in 2022.

We cannot thank the amazing communities of Deep Creek, Garrett County and Westernport for their support over the years. It takes A LOT of people and multiple agencies to make this event happen and it would not have happened without their support.

This is a special part of the country and we encourage everyone to take their bike and trail shoes to get up there and explore all the area has to offer.
