Welcome to Deep Creek Lake for the Labor Day holiday weekend!
While there is no actual town or city known as “Deep Creek Lake”, you can find out more by checking out our pages for weather and webcams or by searching your phone apps for McHenry 21541 or Swanton 21561 or Oakland 21550. Also, know that Deep Creek Lake State Park has the only public sandy beach access to Deep Creek Lake. Plug the park address of 898 State Park Road, Swanton, Maryland 21561 into your GPS for the quickest route to the Lake!
Deep Creek Lake State Park day-use area is open 8 a.m. to sunset and the trails are open sunrise to sunset. Note that the main gate is closed during the snowmobile season which is Dec. 15 through March 15 but parking available at the Discovery Center. Please check with the park before your visit if you plan to engage in an activity that requires you to be in the park before or after the posted hours.
The fee to enter the park is $3 per Maryland resident and $5 per non-Maryland resident through Labor Day. Then, just $3 per Maryland vehicle and $5 per non-Maryland vehicle until Memorial Day the next season.
Pets are allowed on trails, in boat ramp area (to board vessels), and allowed to swim from shoreline in all areas except swimming beach, docks or fishing piers.
Our schools begin about a week later than the rest of Maryland so we haven’t gone back yet. Soak up those last few minutes of summer hiking, listening to good music, biking (my personal favorite), boating, or just relaxing.
