The weather today will be sunny with a high near 70 and a low around 49. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high near 73 and a low around 57. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with showers likely, mainly after 9am. A high near 68 and a low around 56. West wind 7 to 9 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Labor Day Monday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 71 and a low around 52.

The high-temperature average was 81.6 and the low-temperature average was 63.6, and there were 6.29 inches of precipitation reported for August. I’ll be interested to see how Ida’s rains compare!

Dot Sisler also sent in a photo of the flooding from Wednesday at Sang Run. What a difference from the photo she sent in two weeks ago!

No worries, though. Garrett County reported The Garrett County Emergency Operations Center was activated on September 1 at 0557 hrs and has returned to normal operations at 0800 yesterday, September 2. No water rescues or major damages were reported.

The inaugural class of Ascend West Virginia, a talent attraction and retention program, will soon pack their bags for Morgantown, the program’s first host city. I wonder if Garrett County could organize something similar?
