Keira’s Day at the Park is THIS SATURDAY at Broadford Park. They are having a walk or run, raffles, silent auction, face painting, a vendor show, and a food truck. Of course, swimming is available at the lake. A DJ and cosmic cheer are scheduled to do a couple of performances throughout the day. This event is in memory of 8-year old Keira Mae Rinker that passed away October 10, 2021 as a result of a car accident. Her parents are working to keep her memory alive and give her the future that she doesn’t get to do on her own.

Deep Creek Lake State Park will be hosting its 22nd Annual Art in the Park festival on July 9 and 10. Admission to the park is $3 per resident and $5 for non-residents—children in car seats and seniors presenting a Maryland Park Service golden age pass enter for free. Guests may arrive by boat, car, or foot through the park gate. Docking is available for boaters.

Mountain Lake Park celebrates with the free Victorian Chautauqua weekend following the 4th of July. Historical performances, lectures, live music, vendors and artisans, food, trolley bus tours, and activities relive a bygone era that began as a planned community along the B&O Railroad.

The members of the Garrett Hoof Prints 4-H Club are holding a “Fill the Trailer” community service event on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at Tractor Supply, Oakland.
